…has led to a relevant quote.
“Great plays aren’t written, they’re re-written.”
Flirtation Walk – A Warner Brothers picture.
It’s Dick and Ruby and until Mickey and Judy they couldn’t be beat – but then again, that was a different time. You don’t really get many cadet pictures these days. Pity, because when it’s set to music the cadet scene has a real appeal. Do you think I should just check myself into Bellview tomorrow morning or I should wait for the nice men in the white coats to pick me up and escort me?
Dick Powell, people – a great singer.
This little ditty is one of my favorites…OF ALL TIME! There – I said it.
He’ll put the mortgage through…. that’s worth anything.
Hey Hey we are the Monkees. You know we love to please.
A manufactured image, with no philosophies.
We hope you like our story, although there isn’t one.
That is to say there’s many.
That way there is more fun.
You told us you like action and games of many kinds.
You like to dance, we like to sing,
So let’s all lose our minds!
Hey Hey we are the Monkees.
We’ve said it all before.
The money’s in, we’re made of tin we’re here to give you more.
That’s from HEAD starring The Monkees. When I met Jack Nicholson the first thing I said was that HEAD is one of my favorite movies. He paused ever so slightly and smiled and said thank-you. Nuf said. It was written and produced by Jack and Bob Rafelson in 1968.
By the way – all the coolest people love the Monkees.
Paris, 1986 that is… Looks better than most things I saw this week.
I love this video with this song….
Technically, Krakatoa is West of Java, but I actually believe every lyric Cindy Wilson has ever sung so for me this lyric has a deeper meaning. (?) The sax trill sends me off the pad and when the tenor sax plays the melody it’s so boozy. This is a must blast, fuck the neighbors type of situation. Calories will be burnt.
“I’m ‘unna jump in crater.”
“…see ya later.”
Thanks from LES CHILD, mon amie.
“Angel”
Wow – this is cool. I love the back up singers without Amy. That’s a great idea.
