Not really Judy

She had nowhere to go. She played every minute all the way out. The result was, she went nowhere – she couldn’t, she had no room to travel. I have a few more very simple notes for Tracie Bennett that I think would help that show out quite a bit. I had the pleasure of seeing this Judy-fest with one of the best directors in the business. We agreed that five minutes with Miss Bennett would help this performance forever. Still, I’m very happy that a show like this one can even exist. Really…it’s just marvelous.

and what an audience…girl!

Tragic Hobbies

I don’t think about it too much. It’s too sad. If I start thinking about all those people dying then I go right to WTC, watching the towers fall and all those people dying. I don’t get the romantic angle with the Titanic. It’s a  legitimate hobby now. Will collecting things from the WTC be a hobby in a hundred years? Will people be collecting souvenirs from Windows On The World and having them appraised on Antiques Roadshow (season 115)? I don’t like tragic hobbies. Respect the dead. No, respect your elders, honor the dead – that’s it.

The Future Perfect

I swear Duke Todd knows everything that’s going on in Manhattan. Last week Sir Duke pointed out this “best place for furniture right now” store. Somebody’s doing everything right in there. The scrap wood furniture is right on time and is available in ultra super shiny shiny clear lacquer finish or no finish at all.

It’s all happening at 55 Great Jones Street.

I like nice things that used to be junk.

Bringing the fantasy alive for under five

Make it real for under five dollars. This version of Marilyn’s costume might even be under three. “Job done.”
