A great read.
No idea…
Everybody likes to say, “Oh they ruined it. It’s gone now.”
Partly true. I was in the former Red Ballroom last night and while it’s not what it used to be, it’s still pretty nice. True, there’s no place for a man to check his hat anymore and that’s a shame. The Gold Ballroom is history and that’s a real tragedy but parts of the former grandeur endure. ( I just wanted to write ” grandeur endure.” ) Trader Vic’s is now just a memory of Boy George nodding off into his whipped cream and that’s sad. The Oak Room is still there and the Palm Court remains and they still give good lobby.
That’s a long way from here….
“sssssssss” hot shoe. shoes on fire.
nice coat. Did it come with the shoes?
Now I’m done. Vibrant beige flames shooting out of your summer sandalette? I can’t. The is beige-formation overload. What are we doing living here in the “protect the sanctity of marriage” USA when they are making shoes like this in Italy? I’m confused.
This one?…not so much.
Tail lights! That’s a good idea. You can’t be too safe and at night a woman can never be sure.
“I for one am very happy to hear the President’s views on gay marriage because both my grown up daughter, Liza and myself have married gay men in the past.
Gay marriage isn’t bad at all really, they can help you with your make-up and you can go shopping with them and they’ll tell you the truth about your figure. That sort of thing is important to a woman.” – The Living Memory of Francis “Baby” Gumm AKA Miss Judy Garland
You can get a perfectly decent egg salad sandwich at The Edison Diner. Their fare is nothing to sneeze at, but if you have to while you’re there please do it into the crook of your arm. That’s the latest sneeze protocol. Moving on…
Looks like Doris is getting some bad news. It’s best not to answer when it rings.
Do you see that? Do you see the way that light is just, and that shadow is…well… nevermind.
New York is giving good tulip this year. I think we’d all agree on that.
This double fancy is practically speaking french to the counter man at Schrafft’s. Imagine?
