Mexican Divorce Balls

I cup top quality unsalted butter (you’re on your own now, treat yourself to the finer things)
2 cups unbleached flour
1 cup chopped nuts (I used privately roasted pecans, almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios and cashews)
1/4 cup dried fruit minced. (I used orange flavored cranberries)
1/2 cup powdered sugar (plus more for coating)
2 teaspoons vanilla (the real thing)
a pinch of sea salt

1.Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla, nuts, dried fruit and salt. Mix together with the flour and possibly a tablespoon of water if you need it to make a dense dough. Take it easy and don’t work it much. (That’s the Mexican part) just kidding. Yo amo a mis hermanos mexicanos. Refrigerate for at least an hour.
2. Roll small balls. Bake 20 min at 320 degrees F.
3. Cool halfway then roll in powdered sugar.
4. Celebrate your freedom and collect alimony.
